The quality is pretty consistent, and the price point is not bad for airport food! Thundercloud has become one of my go-tos for grabbing a quick lunch on travel.

My usual order: California Club with Provolone & Spicy Mustard, then add lettuce, tomatoes, & sprouts as my 3 veggies. It's fresh, light, and doesn't make feel grossly greasy before my flight.

I stopped in here to purchase a California Club (turkey, avocado, bacon) after a delayed flight. This was a take out order, but the service was banal. The person preparing my sandwich look like she wasn't into it. I paid for my sandwich and left.

I ate my sandwich a few minutes later on my flight and to be frank it was gross. The quality just wasn't on par with the Thundercloud Subs standalones around Austin.  My whole wheat bread wasn't fresh tasting and neither was the avaocado. I took a few bites and chucked the rest.

I recommend avoid this location and sticking to the stand-alones around the city. Plenty of other places to eat at the airport that's much better than this one. If I wasn't on the plane I would have gone back to complain it was that bad of a sandwich.

Absolutely worst service out of ALL the locations. I'm an  Austinite  and I've been a huge loyal crazy fan of Thundercloud Subs sine 1978. Yes!!! 1978!
There's not a better sandwich out there by far.

BUT, at the airport (which I love to grab a sandwich prior to my flights) the service is absolutely horrible. You're treated like they're doing you a favor and it's a pain in their ass to make a sandwich.

This review is not based off one visit. It's based off six visit over four months. Every time it's equally as bad. At least they're consistent... Why hire Sloths for an airport location??? We are in a HURRY!

Come on TC! You can represent Austin better than this...

I wanted to give no star. I had ordered a veggie delight. I found a stone in my sub. I am really disgusted by this.  I would never have any sub from thundercloud subs

The airport. Ugh. Expensive, slow and usually not particularly good. You are eating here because you either didn't have time to grab something before you came, or you are an obsessive that needs to be here 2 hours before your flight. Looking around, Salt Lick BBQ is so crowded..so, let me calm your airport meal time fears.

I found Thundercloud Subs to be fast, fresh and friendly. Is this a change your life sandwich? Not a chance. But, I will say, my Austin Club on wheat bread was pretty tasty. Toppings were fresh, bread was soft and they made it fresh to order under my watchful eye. As far as airport good goes, I've done much, much worse.

I see a lot of comments about employees being slow or rude. I experienced just the opposite. They moved of through quick with a friendly smile and conversation. I'd definitely make this place my first choice if I end up needing a meal in the Austin airport again.
